Hello. I have Hp Pavillion dv6700 laptop, on windows 7 ultimate, 32bit.. Recently I have audio problems, meaning that no audio/sound comes out when I play music or videos. I have tried the following without success: 1. I have update my audio driver with the driver update software, and is not longer showing Realtek audio driver but Apowersoft devicediriver. I have tried to uninstall, Apowersoft and go back to Realtek, but the system says " No audio device detected", 2. I typed "ervices.msc" in command prompt(cmd) and start all audio services and its dependencies to"automatic", but still nothing works. Dont get me wrong, the audio driver seems working , but its like audio is muted.3. I have gone to control panel and "trobleshoot sound playback problems" but still no success. Please help.
write the Linux iso too a flash drive boot in to live mode
then see if you are getting sound
Thanks for prompt response Compton, will download it tonight and tell u how it went.

Dear Compton
I followed your steps but hit the brickwall when it comes to running Linux Lite( automatic/live) on my pc. The display is not showing correctly,I'm not sure if it has to do with my pc or anything else. My pc is Hp Pavillion Dv6700, with windows 7 ultimate, 32 bit, with Ram of 2gb and processor of AMD, 2Ghz. My grapics card/driver is NVDIA G Force 7.
I could only run Lunix Lite on safe mode. I then launched VLC and played audio cd but the was no Sound. I tried playing a dvd as well. It plays with no sound. When I right click ( within VLC) an go under audio menu, audio is shown as muted and I dont know how to unmute it.
I have tried to launch "Winfix it" and "HPsupport Assistant" programa but they dont run, I get error codes.
Something got my attention this morning. When I click "Start" button, "All Programs", "Accessories", "System tools", " System information", "software einviroment", "System drivers" I noticed that applesoft audio driver is not running( it is stopped in windows). I wonder how do I enable it. Is there a service within windows e.g. Services.msc that I need to enable? I have attached a file so that u can see what I'm talking about.
I have a linux system recovery disk an I'm npt sure how can it help me fix this problem. It seems as if the proble has to do with audio kernel in windows.

Hi Compton
I tried pc speakers and earphones, nothing is working, I even thought of reinstalling windows, but since u mention it coul be hardware issue, now I'm skeptical.
I will try this Linux version later today an update you.

Quick Question: When a system driver has been stopped e.g. Apowersoft audio driver in this case, is there a way of turning it on, or how can u enable it?
Does Windows have a repair disk for restoring drivers to their original version and function?
