Hardware Radio Off/How to turn On?

Hello Everyone !
I installed Intel PROSet Wireless Adapter software and the problem is . I don't have a icon on taskbar and it keep saying no connection available. When I run WiFi Manual Diagnostics it says , Hardware Radio is Off. Next I went to the bios to confirm WLAN is enabled. My laptop is a HP Compaq 6730s, Windows 7 Ultimate. Installed new wireless card Intel WiFi Link 5100, model:512_MMW, before I installed the software. I have a wired internet connection but no wireless. I would boot up Linux see if it will work so you can rule hardware problems
