Not sure what screen shot of the program that's from, but I think its a issue is with cloning the boot volume, because BCD is corrupt or missing, because that's the type of error your getting, make sure you select the little 100mb partition sometimes there is 2 of them little partitions, also some software have Set Drive as Active, also make sure hard drive is first in boot order.

Still having issues, take a good read of this from EaseUS

Hope this helps.

Screen shot is of both the 100mb and C: drive partitions selected to be cloned...thanks for the information on Troubleshooting System Boot Issue After Restoring/Cloning. Didn't realise there were so many problems...makes me think maybe Disk Imaging might be the way to go ?

Is Disk Imaging more reliable and what problems can arise...as I have never attempted this before. What are the advantages opposed to Cloning if any...sorry to be a pain but this is driving me nuts as my biggest fear is hard drive failure and no working backup. Thanks Guys.

Hey Bill,

Here's a nice little article explaining these 2 processes.

I prefer creating system images myself. You have a lot more options available.

You can also test the image by converting it and mounting it within windows. Heres Brians handy vid here:

Here's something you won't believe...a few months ago I Installed Linux Mint 17 Mate on my old computer as I am thinking of learning Linux.

I found it easy to install and setup...this morning I took out the Linux hard drive put it in the new computer (6mths old) and it booted straight away...Windows wouldn't do that in a million years...I know I've tried. This post is coming from the linux Mint OS HDD in the new computer...maybe it might have something to do with Microsoft afterall wouldn't be surprised.
