BSOD When attempting to load Mini Xp via Hirens boot USB
#1
As the title reads after successfully loading the hirens boot USB version 15.2 to my computer I go to the option that reads to load Mini XP windows.
When clicking on this option this results in me getting a blue screen with the error code 15. I've tried loading Hirens from USB and CD/DVD with the same results. Greatly appreciate assistance.

Can I ask what you are trying to achieve overall?

It might not support your hardware.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I'm attempting to run Mini XP Windows on my ACER E-17 laptop. Not being made aware of Hirens Boot Disk till now I'm curious about all aspects of the program. It would be very helpful if you knew of a link that would provide specific direction on overall application of listed programs that are part of Hirens Boot.

My laptop was purchased first part of the year and has had all necessary Updates.
Looking forward to your response'

Here is a list of all of the available tools of Hirens.
https://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd

It might just be the fact that your hardware is too new for Mini XP. Its very cutdown and might not even includes any drivers for your hardware.

Some reading on Mini XP
https://minixp.reboot.pro/docs/files/issues.htm

I can see a few things like 64bit support and AHCI support.

You might run into trouble with Windows 8 and Hiren's Mini XP.
Maybe try boot to Windows 8 Live CD

HI Brian,
Thanks so much for your prompt reply to my issues regarding using hiren's Boot program with Windows 8.1.
And OF COURSE you creating a youtube tutorial on how to deal specifically with this issue.

I'm currently downloading files from this website
https://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media
to enable me to start and install Windows 8.1 using a pen drive onto a computer when everything else fails.

I'm taking from your youtube tutorial that this is as much as is possible to be used for a computer that has failed to correctly boot up when dealing with the new configuration. As you said in your last response that 8.1 Windows computer may have compatibility issues when attempting to run the auto boot Hirens program.
Adding to what I got from the tutorial is that the programs being used with hirens boot disk will be unavailable to the new configuration?

Thanks again for your expertise!
Philip
