system restore error 0x80042308

hi i cant create a system restore points as i get this error everytime. 0x80042308 the restore point could not be created for the following reason. 0x80042308 specified object was not found.

tried a reinstall of windows but still no joy, any ideas ?

try disabling your antivirus when creating a restore point

can you create a restore point in safe mode ?

i dont have a antivirus running . i just tried to create a restore point in safe mode but it dont give me the option to do it, and it says i have no restore points created.

open cmd as administrator try this

chkdsk /r
sfc /scannow

didnt find any problems. i am installing windows ten on the 29th when it comes out, do you think that will fix the problem ?

maybe you should backup your important data before upgrading to  windows 10

check  your hard drive health status
