Avast Free Antivirus Selling User Data to Third Parties

Avast Free Antivirus Selling User Data to Third Parties
Avast Harvesting User Data To Third Parties? This to me is a step to far from Avast and will hurt them in the long run in my honest opinion. Avast claims to have more than 435 million active users per month which is a massive amount of data being collected and sold on to other major companies who want to buy the so-called “All Clicks Feed,” which has been collected and analysed by a company called Jumpshot. Jumpshot can track user behavior, clicks, and movement across websites in highly precise detail, which is very scary. Avast claims this data is de-identified to prevent someone’s personal identity from being revealed.

What is Jumpshot and how does it work? You can watch this video below.

Avast and Jumpshot Forum Post

Avast has teamed up with Jumpshot to collect data from your browser history and click history.

You can opt out of this as far as I know. I have chosen to uninstall Avast and won’t recommend it to people why Avast is using this very aggressive ad campaign and data collecting. AVG user? these are owned by Avast also, which means they could be collecting data as well.

It looks like the premium version collects data as well
