Change or Reset Forgot Windows 7 Password with Windows Disk by Britec
First you’ll want to type in the following command to backup the original sticky keys file:
copy c:windowssystem32sethc.exe c:
Then copy the command prompt executable (cmd.exe) over top of the sticky keys executable:
copy c:windowssystem32cmd.exe c:windowssystem32sethc.exe
Now you can reboot the PC. Once you get to the login screen, keep tapping Shift Key, you’ll see an administrator mode command prompt.
Now reset the password, type the following command, replacing the username and password with the combination you want:
net user (Your Account) (NewPassword)
Now you can login. with your new password.
Once at deasktop open the command prompt, and copying the c:sethc.exe file back to c:windowssystem32sethc.exe.

before this, i have a problem with my laptop where my password not working and i already follow your step to reset my laptop password. It is working. However, on the last step as below:

i already follow your step..open CMD using administrator then,, put in “copy c:\sethc.exe c:\windows\system32\sethc.exe ..after that.. i answer the question is “y” then enter.
But the result is Access Denied. ..So, need your kind consideration to solve my problem..
