How to Upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 Without Losing Data
Its a simple process. I will activate Windows 10 first, if you have activated version of Windows 10 already, you can skip that step. I will be using the in-place upgrade method to upgrade to Windows 11. You will need a Windows 11 ISO which can be download from Microsoft. This is a official download link.
Windows 10 – Settings / Update & Security / Windows Insider Program
Join insider program. When final Windows 11 has been released, you wont need to join Windows Insider Program.
You will need to install the Windows Insider Preview build on a device that has been previously activated
In-Place Upgrade:
An in-place upgrade will allow you to keep your files, settings, and applications while upgrading to a newer build of Windows.
Download the appropriate ISO for your Windows installation
Save it to a location on your PC
Open File Explorer, navigate to the save location for the ISO, and double-click the ISO file to open it.
Windows will “mount” the image so you may access the files contained therein.
Double-click the Setup.exe file to launch the install process
NOTE: During setup, ensure you select the option to “Keep Windows settings, personal files, and apps”.
Once the install has completed, verify your Windows Insider settings are correct.
