Microsoft Removes Option To Delay Windows 10 Update
How to delay Windows 10 update? It seems Microsoft is out to force you into the latest Windows 10 updates earlier than you may want. Delaying or Defer feature Windows 10 update or delaying security updates was really easy in Windows 10 Pro, But Microsoft has removed deferrals from the Windows Update settings Advanced Options page starting on Windows 10 version 2004.
You still have the “Pause updates for up to 7 days” option which you can pause five times total, making it 35 days.
The only way to defer windows 10 updates now is in the group policy editor. Quality updates can be deferred up to 30 days and feature updates can be deferred up to 365 days as before.
Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Update / Windows Update for Business. Then look for:
“Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are received” and Enabled that feature.
