Reset Microsoft Word Settings to Defaults: Microsoft Word is part of Microsoft Office Software, If you’re having problems with your software and you don’t want to install Microsoft Office again, you can try a reset to default, this can fix a lot of issues that you may be having with your software,  you may of have installed plugins, add-ons or used a third party application to integrate into Microsoft Office and its now become unstable and causing crashing problems or errors with missing or corrupt files or whether you done some changes to program settings and you can’t change them back, all is not lost, you can try a reset to defaults.

For Windows 8

For Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, (Select this method if you are using Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008)
