ok then take the hard drive out of the Samsung External case

then place it in the TeckNet® USB 3.0 Hard Drives Docking Station

then see if the hard drive will show up

It's out of Warranty I'm afraid.

Edit - It seams likely this is a faulty Cable/USB The Light on the front of the device comes on but nothing happening in Windows?
when the light comes on can you hear the hard drive spinning up ?

Samsung are sending me the necessary cables......

Brian if you read this I've taken a few screen shots of matters perhaps you can help me along???

What does it do when  you try and enter that drive in windows?
Can you try and mount that image with Acronis.

It does nothing it says that it's not accesable, and I use EaseUSTodo Backup free.
