Britec I'd like your input on this please

I wouldn't want go that far with it lol. Theres programs like ram drive out there though but why is it that only software like that is the only way you can make programs run fast there has to be away you can do what ram drive does but without needing software. You know. Because its just insane that a computer with less ram and cores seemed a lot faster when i have double the cores and over 3 in a half size of the ram. I dont want to go all out with tweaks and optimizing i just would like some tweaks that bring out more power of the operating system, a solid state is the way to go but its disappointing to buy one for a pc with half the speed of 6gbps solid state and the whole its better to install the os on a solid-state drive and to put your main files on a hard drive because the more you write to an ssd the more life your taking from it also just those couple things just make it difficult for me. Now ram on the other hand ive been thinking about buying more but at the moment i cant afford to buy some which brings up reg tweaks or envioronment variable keys and values that can be added like for instance largesystemcache seems like a great tweak but as soon as you reach that limit your pc freezes and what not which sucks now if there was a way to enable largesystemcache but be able to control how much ram is used thatd be awesome or if superfetcher and prefetcher wouldn't make my hd sound like its about to fall apart when changing the values of both to 1 thatd be cool also. And up until 1 of the many videos i watched that you made i had my virtual memory set at the min 1500 and 5000 for the win7 and later models and for the older ones 1500 and 4092.

Yeah i totally understand that britec, im sorry you go through that. I think i found a tweak in the registry i like though hkey local machine current control set control session manager memory management systempages value 31000 (decimal)

#14
Could i install 16gb of ram in my laptop without problems or do computers have a limit to avide by?

#15
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\SystemPages = (dec)110000? Is that an okay setting and if not how is systempages configured and what would the maximum value i can use without os problems?

From what ive figured out is configure the size of megabytes you wish to use then convert mb # to kb and the number in kb is the value to put in the decimal value box is that right? Please correct me if im wrong

I would leave that tweak alone. 4GB is 4GB no matter what you try and do, you cannot make it 8GB unless you upgrade. The tweaks you are talking about will give you a very minimal improvement if done right, but on the flip side could also cause the system to become unstable.

Like I keep saying, 4GB is what it is 4GB. Overclocking will give you a performance boost, but can your system be overclocked safely? probably not because its a budget system.

As for upgrading to 16GB, I would need the motherboard make and model number to tell you how much memory capacity that board can take.
