As i was reassembling my laptop i ripped the power wire

That's the thing everything seems to snap into place as expected but by the dvd tray it has a little lip that over laps a bit

you need line up that part then press down on it don,t press down on it too hard it should click in to place

f23948 no thats not the part i was talking about, i was being intelligent and slid underneath the page down key that you see in the picture and broke the clip piece of the key which is why when it comes to laptops i only work on mine unless its the rectangle piece where the ram and wifi card is . Im sure im asking a question i already know the answer to but do i need to take the laptop apart in order to do as your saying compton?

I would remove the screws again and reseat the cover making sure there are no wires sticking up causing the case to rise (there shouldn't be as it's the optical drive but to be safe).
