I think you're not understanding this properly. If you have a physical main memory of 4 GB, it should not be detected as 8 GB like I and Spark tried to explain

If for some reason, your memory space is identified as 8 GB or whatever except for 4 GB, that IS the problem, my friend

I would like you to reset your bios settings back to its default. It should be back to 4 gigs after the reset and that's how it should be

o, so if I want real 8GB of RAM, I need to buy an 8GB RAM stick?

Exactly!

I am confused, the image shows he or she has to two identical 4GB sticks of memory, so it should see 8GB of memory. The ram is in slot 1 and 3.

Soooo. your saying I should have 8GB of RAM, but that Windows doesn't pick it up?

Nope, that is not what he meant. What he meant was that it's not clear if you have 8 or 4 gigs of RAM

Can you please open your computer's cabinet and see if you have 2 RAM sticks or 1?

I am going to ask the person who build this PC for me, since I am only 14 years old, and I don't know that much about computer builds

You can go ahead and close this thread, talked to the builder of the PC, and I resetted my BIOS settings, now it gets both the RAM sticks
