Toshiba Satellite wont boot
#21
ok so i dont think it worked.. i got the disk and it was a USB. I ran the "Recovery of Factory Default Software" (Recover to out-of-box state) and nothing seems to have changed except now when i start it, it says "Loading Data" and then takes me to the recovery screen again. There is another option to "Erase the hard disk" (Delete all the data and partitions from your hard drive) with the toshiba drive i got. i didnt run it, wanted to ask first. Thanks for the help

ok lets take a recap

what the problem with the computer Factory Reset stop half way through

what can cause that to happen a corrupted  recovery partition or a bad hard drive

what have we done so far to fix the the problem try to install a new  Factory Reset from a flash drive but still fail to install

a corrupted  recovery partition is likely not the problem

what can the problem be then must likely the hard drive but to be 100% sure

you will have to get a  Hard Drive Docking Station to test the hard drive

then use this program to test the hard drive https://briteccomputers.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=678
