Sound card poping

or it may be bad ram... probably not, or like i said it's the ground on the motherboard

Strike for Asus IMO but I would still do all I could to rule out anything connected to the computer or motherboard.

I would suggest getting a sound card that is compatible with and finding the drivers for arch linux. Some Intel audio chips do not work well with Linux Distros
