Also the pins in the cpu socket could be bent. that's what I'm guessing

Bent pins on Motherboard CPU Socket is not good, you can try and straighten the pins before replacing the motherboard. It can be done.

I've tried that with no appeal at all. so i guess i will be using my laptop for a while

did you bent the cpu pins ?

if you did bent the cpu pins well its not the

cpu its the motherboard

the cpu pins are on the cpu socket not the CPU itself
